The Aquatec CDP 8800 is a great little pump to use for aeroponic misting systems. This pump will put out 80 psi or more depending on the number of misting heads you run.
It plugs into a 115v volt outlet but it runs on 24 volts and is very economical to use. The transformer is included with this pump. Self priming to about 6 feet. Comes with rubber feet to dampen vibration and runs extremely quiet. You can even run it dry (not recommended) without ruining it. Should last for at least 15,000 hours of continuous running.
This Aquatec CDP 8800 pump comes with both 1/4 and 3/8 fittings. I use 1/4″ line and run 12 misters with mine and it works great. For larger systems you will probably want to run 3/8 lines and tee off to 1/4 at the misting heads. Nice to have the choice though.
The Aquatec 8800 is a booster pump often used for RO systems. DON’T BUY A DEMAND PUMP BECAUSE THE PRESSURE WILL NOT BE HIGH ENOUGH. This pump is also different than the Aquatec 6800 which is rated for 50 gallons per day or less. Although both 6800 and 8800 pumps provide the same psi boost, the Aquatec 8800 was designed for systems needing 50 to 100 gallons per day or more. The 8800 is the obvious choice especially for larger systems. Difference in cost between the two is negligible so go with the 8800.
The Aquatec 8800 is rated at 80 psi boost but it has a 125 psi bypass. This means in a closed loop system pressure can build up well past 80 psi. This pump will run up to 25 misting heads at 80 psi. You don’t want to run any more than that on a single pump because pressure will drop resulting in larger droplet size.
